Memories of prides past…
Ever since the Stonewall riots in 1969, Pride has been one of the most celebrated events worldwide. Millions of people come together year after year to celebrate equality and diversity within the LGBTQ+ community.
As the London Parade is postponed this year, London Pride are asking 30,000 participants to ally together and spread awareness of this great campaign by completing one of three tasks.
To spread awareness and gather momentum on social media, last year and this year’s theme for London Pride revolves around a hashtag that incorporates inclusive pronouns #YouMeUsWe.
At vivacity, we want to celebrate sexual diversity, inclusion and increased visibility of a subject that is so important to support. With this year’s formal Pride celebration put on hold, we wanted to look back at what Pride means to us…
“Pride is all about the colours, the vibrancy, energy and freedom that people have in celebrating their sexuality.”
“Pride means being your authentic self. Learning how to show the world who you are and speaking up for people who are scared to have their voice heard.”
“We are all in this together, and I think it is sometimes easy to forget that. Pride is about standing together, united, and lifting each other up.”
